A Little About Me
Over the years I faced the need to not shrink away from life’s stresses and unknowns. But believe me it’s a daily practice. So I continue with my own therapeutic practices through mindful meditation, journalling, art making and community connections. It is my belief a therapist cannot take their client any further than they can take themselves. So I am dedicated to my personal development as well as ongoing continuing education in my field as an expressive arts therapist and counsellor.
I am committed to helping those who have experienced the many challenges in life that can leave us feeling disconnected and alone in the world. I know it’s an uncomfortable, frustrating, stressful and at times a scary place to be.
Education and Experience
For over 23 years I have had the privilege of working as a counsellor and expressive arts therapist. I have brought expressive arts and counselling to patients bedside in hospital settings with acute/chronic illnesses. Also for groups in psychiatric hospitals, in opened and locked facilities. In addition, I have worked with women who suffer from eating disorders with accompanying depression, and anxiety. I’ve also worked in a military hospital with veterans experiencing PTSD and addictions as well as the nursing staff who suffered vicarious trauma. My work also brought me to providing expressive arts and counselling for those who experienced grief and loss.
